During the pandemic period, Seville’s domestic activity has been higher than usual. The lack of mobility didn’t reduce the growing capacity and improved the touristic offer in general as well as in the MICE sector, particularly, in that main destination in the south of Spain.
Seville has a portfolio of projects including the upcoming opening of 40 new 4 and 5 star hotels, that are going to imply a big qualitative increase in the current offer of hosted services. More than 3.000 new rooms which in many cases benefit from large buildings or with limited use, with an important emblematic, monumental and historical load of the city, to convert itself into hotels with a distinctive character, some with classical and traditional vibes, and other with a modern design depending on the case. We can mention for instance the Radisson Collection Hotel, Marriott Autograph by AC, ABBA Sevilla, Soho Catedral, Eurostars, Alma, etc.
The venues and spaces with soul in Seville, imply the middle of its way to be and to share original sensations and differeciented by living events and unique experiences. For the traditional ones, congress centres, house-palaces, “haciendas and cortijos” manor houses, we now offer spaces of a highly diverse scope which makes the case for Las Setas, the world’s largest wooden structure that holds an immersive room of great technological spectacularity with a 180º screen and 12K definition, located in the geographical center of the city. We continue with the center that shows us the path of the history of the first voyage around the world, initiated by Magellan in 1519 and completed by Elcano in 1522, being Seville Origin and Destination of this noble deed for humanity. The Nao Victoria, a replica of the first vessel that completed this feat, along with a space for celebrations, which is also a museum located next to the river and the famous Golden Tower (Torre del Oro), completes this unique and innovative offer. A former brewery over 100 years old, Factoría Cruzcampo, with a social purpose of Corporate Social Responsibility and environmental commitment, has become a space for experiences related to craft beers and local and international cuisine in a space that leaves no one indifferent. We must also mention the brand new spaces dedicated to meetings and events just launched in Sevilla Futbol Club stadium, located very close to the city center and which is surrounded by a great hotel offer.
The history, culture and monumentality of Seville deserve to be enjoyed through numerous proposals for experiences in palaces, gardens, monuments and points of interest where the passage of time left an indelible mark so that we can now enjoy them. In the footsteps of Carmen, Cervantes, El Barbero de Sevilla, Don Giovanni, Magellan, Triana, La Macarena, Game of Thrones are some of the many routes that we can offer to complete a memorable visit at an event held in Seville.
The international mobility has a new ally in Seville with the completion of works in the airport, intended for january 2022. This is an investment of almost 70 million euros that will completely modernize the Sevillian airfield, allowing it to double its operational capacity, both in terms of aircraft and passengers. Some of the sectorized works, already completed, are already underway. This new version of the airport, together with the incentives that are offered to airlines for the establishment of new routes, will allow Seville to considerably increase its air capacity and, therefore, its capacity to host international events in a very short period of time.
